Every application you send has a status, and you can see it. That is deliberate: "no ghosting" is a thing we advertise, and it is worth nothing if the status is invisible or vague.
The statuses

| Viewed | Someone at the company has opened it. Set automatically the first time they do. |
| Shortlisted | They are interested and you are on the shorter list. |
| Rejected | They are not taking it further. |
| Withdrawn | You pulled the application. |
What the two sides can do
The distinction matters, because it tells you what a status means about the other party:
- The employer can move an application to viewed, shortlisted or rejected.
- You can withdraw it. That is the only move you have — you cannot mark your own application as shortlisted, and neither can anyone else on your behalf.
Viewed is set automatically on first open. It is not a judgement and not a signal of interest. It means the file was opened.
Rejected and withdrawn are final
Both are terminal: once an application reaches either, it stops moving. A rejected application cannot be un-rejected, and a withdrawn one cannot be un-withdrawn. If circumstances change, the answer is a new application, not a reopened one.
What we do not do
- We do not tell you your position in a shortlist. We do not know it.
- We do not guess. A status changes because someone changed it, or because you opened something. Nothing here is inferred.
When a listing closes
A published listing closes after 30 days, or earlier if the employer closes it. Applications already in flight keep their status; closing a listing does not reject anyone.
