JobPuul is built on open data and open source. This page credits the third-party data we redistribute, as their licences require.
GeoNames — place, region and district names
The place suggestions in JobPuul's location fields, the region and district names shown alongside them, and the town "use my current location" names come from the GeoNames geographical database, used under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence.
Specifically we use the allCountries, alternateNamesV2, admin1CodesASCII and
admin2Codes extracts: every populated place GeoNames lists, except those it marks
abandoned, destroyed or historical; the alternate names that let you find a place by its
local spelling (typing Praha finds Prague, Wien finds Vienna); and the region and
district names that tell one Springfield, or one Nová Ves, from another.
The data is redistributed as part of this application. It has been filtered and reformatted — we keep a subset of the fields and a subset of the alternate names — but the names themselves are unmodified.

OpenStreetMap and Protomaps — the map
The map on the jobs, services and people pages is drawn from OpenStreetMap data, © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database Licence.
We serve it as the Protomaps basemap, a vector-tile build of OpenStreetMap and Natural Earth that Protomaps distributes as a Produced Work under the ODbL. We redistribute the tile file unmodified, from our own servers. The map credits both in its corner.
The map's style is Protomaps' basemap style, whose
design is in the public domain (CC0), recoloured to JobPuul's palette. Its icons come from
protomaps/basemaps-assets.

Noto Sans — the map's lettering
Place names on the map are set in Noto Sans, © Google LLC and
the Noto Project Authors, used under the
SIL Open Font License 1.1. We serve it as the pre-rendered glyph
ranges published in protomaps/basemaps-assets.
MapLibre GL JS — the map's renderer
The map is drawn in your browser by MapLibre GL JS, © MapLibre contributors, under the BSD 3-Clause licence. We serve its files unmodified, with their licence notice.
Country names
Country names are not redistributed data: they are produced at runtime by your own device or our server from the Unicode CLDR data built into the JavaScript runtime, which is why they appear in your language automatically.
