AI assistants

Last updated November 5, 2026

You can connect an AI assistant, such as Claude, to your JobPuul account so it can search and read job listings for you. This article covers how to connect one, what it can and cannot do, and how to stop it.

What a connected assistant can do

A connected assistant can only search and read published job listings. It cannot apply, post, send messages or change anything in your account. It has two tools:

  • Search jobs finds published listings by words in the title, company, description or city, by place (a city, a country or both), by remote-only, and by type of employment. It returns 20 listings a page, newest first or best match.
  • View a job reads one listing in full: its description, pay, where it is worked, which countries an applicant must be able to work in, and the company behind it, including whether the company is verified.

It sees exactly what a signed-out visitor sees. Connecting it to your account does not show it your profile, your applications, your messages, your enquiries or your company's drafts — only the listings anyone can open on the site. Every listing it finds states its pay, because a job cannot be published without one.

There is no daily allowance to use up: reading is free, and there are no actions that change anything for it to count.

Connect an assistant

You need an assistant that supports MCP connectors with sign-in, such as Claude.

  1. In your assistant, add a custom connector with the address https://jobpuul.com/api/mcp.
  2. The assistant opens JobPuul in your browser. If you are signed out, you see Sign in to connect an app. Sign in the way you usually do.
  3. The first time, JobPuul asks whether to allow the app, by name, to use JobPuul for you, and shows what it is asking for. Read it, then choose Allow or Deny.
  4. Your browser goes back to the assistant, which is now connected.

If you do not have an account yet, create one and confirm your email address first, then start the connection again from your assistant.

If you see This request can't be completed, the link was incomplete or has expired. Go back to the assistant and connect it again.

What the permission page asks

The page names the account you are signed in as, and lists what the app will be able to do:

  • Search and read the published job listings.
  • Stay connected without asking you again, if the app asked for that.

Under the list it says: "It cannot apply, post, send messages or change anything in your account."

The app's name is the one it gave itself, and JobPuul has not checked who made it. The page says so, and shows the address your answer is sent to. Allow it only if you set the connection up yourself, just now, and that address belongs to the assistant you are using. If you did not start a connection, choose Deny.

Disconnect an assistant

JobPuul does not yet have a page that lists connected apps or disconnects one. To stop an assistant using JobPuul, remove the JobPuul connector in the assistant's own settings.

You can still see which apps you have allowed: Request data export under Workspace → Privacy gives you a copy that lists each one by the name it gave, with what you granted and when. Deleting your account disconnects every app at once, because each request an app makes is checked against your permission, and deleting the account removes it. See Privacy and your data.

Safety notes

  • Only connect assistants you chose. Any app can ask; the permission page is where you say no.
  • It acts for you, but only reads. It sees only public listings, so an app you allowed cannot read anything private in your account.
  • Busy assistants are slowed down. Connected apps can make up to 60 requests a minute for you, all of them together. Past that, JobPuul asks it to wait before trying again.
  • A suspended account stops every app. While an account is suspended, its connected apps are refused too.

The public read API

If you build your own tools, JobPuul also has a public, read-only web API that needs no account: it searches published jobs and companies, and lists published service offerings. It is an early version and may change. Its reference is at /api/v0/docs.
