Finding people

Last updated November 5, 2026

The People directory lists the members who chose to make their profile public. This article covers who appears there, how to search and filter it, and how to get in touch with someone you find.

Who appears

Only people who turned on "List my profile publicly" appear. A profile that is not listed is not in the directory, not in search, and not reachable by its link — see Your profile. A profile our moderators have hidden while they review a report does not appear either.

You do not need an account to browse the directory.

Searching

Type into Search people and choose Apply filters. The search looks at a person's name, their skills, their headline, the job titles and organisations in the experience they show on their profile, their About text, and their city. Accents and capital letters do not matter, and a search needs at least two characters.

Skills match in every language JobPuul is in, so a search typed in Czech finds someone whose skills were added in English. If nothing matches, we look once more allowing for a typo in the name or headline.

When you search, the best matches come first. Without a search, the most recently updated profiles come first.

Filters

  • Skills: start typing a skill in any language and pick it from the suggestions, up to five. A person has to list every skill you pick, and people who list them higher up rank first. Text that is not on our list of skills shows as "(no such skill)" and matches nothing.
  • Location: a city or a country from the suggestions, or Use my current location.
  • Distance: within 5 to 100 km of the place you picked. Order → Nearest first needs a distance.
  • Availability: Available now finds people open to work who can start today. Employment, Contract work and Employment or contract work each match the exact choice a person made on their profile, so Contract work does not include people who chose Employment or contract work.
  • Speaks: a language the person lists on their profile.

Clear filters starts again. Next to the results, Map shows the people who have a place on their profile; move or zoom it and the list below shows who is in view.

If you run a lot of different searches in a short time, the page says "Too many searches". Give it a moment and try again. Browsing by place or availability alone does not count.

Getting in touch

There is no message button on a profile. To reach someone:

  • Through their services. If they offer any, their profile lists them under Services offered. Open one and send an enquiry — see Enquiries.
  • Through their links. Links a person added, such as a website, show at the top of their profile.
  • Through a job. If they apply to one of your jobs, you can write to them in the application — see Reviewing applicants.

If a profile breaks our rules, use the report link at the bottom of it — see Blocking and reporting.

Still stuck? Get in touch and a human will read it.
