Your profile

Last updated November 5, 2026

What you can put on your profile, where you edit it, and what other people see on your public profile page.

Where you edit it

Your profile lives under Workspace → Profile. It does not exist until you first press Save profile: the form starts with the name on your account, and only Display name and Country are required.

Skills, availability, languages, experience, education, links and a photo appear only after that first save. Each section then has its own save button, so you can fill them in one at a time.

Who can see your profile is a separate choice, the List my profile publicly box. It is off until you tick it — see Privacy and your data. If you save a profile with a headline or an About text and leave it unlisted, a card asking Want to be found? offers List my profile, or Not now to leave it as it is.

The basics

  • Display name — 2 to 120 characters. Your profile's web address is made from it, so a new name gives a new address; old links still lead to your profile.
  • Headline — one line, up to 200 characters. It sits under your name on your card in People and on your page.
  • About — up to 5,000 characters.
  • City and Country — used by the location filters. Use my current location fills them in from your device and, once you save, the People map shows you at your device's position, to within about 1 km. Remove this position takes the position away again.

Profile photo

Upload image takes a JPEG, PNG or WebP up to 2 MB. Replace image and Remove change it later. Without a photo, your initials stand in.

Skills

Start typing and pick a skill from the list. Spelling, accents and language do not matter. If a skill is not on the list, press Enter to add it anyway: it shows on your page at once, marked Awaiting review in your editor, and becomes searchable once we have reviewed it.

You can add up to 20. Put the ones that matter most first: your card in People shows only the first five. Skills from the list appear in each reader's own language.

Availability: what "open to" means

Work you take on says what you are looking for: Employment, Contract work, Employment or contract work, or Not looking right now. Any choice but the last means you are open to work. You can add:

  • Available from — leave it empty if you can start now;
  • Hours per week — optional, from 1 to 80;
  • How you can work — Remote, Hybrid, On-site, or several.

While you are open to work, your public page shows an Availability section: what you are Open to, when you Can start, and the rest. While you are not looking, the section is left out. Employee and contractor explains how searches use this.

  • Experience — up to 30 entries, each a Job or a Client project, with start and end months, or Ongoing, no end date yet. Turn off "Show on my public profile" to keep an entry to yourself: nobody else sees it, not even a company you apply to, and your CV leaves it out.
  • Education and certifications — up to 20 entries; a certification can have an expiry date.
  • Languages — up to 20, each with a level from A1 to C2 on the CEFR scale, or Native.
  • Links — up to 10: Website, Portfolio, GitHub or Other. Each address must start with http:// or https://.

Your public page marks experience and education as added by you: JobPuul does not check them.

Your CV

There is no CV to upload: your profile is your CV. Download CV gives you a file to open in any browser, then print or save as PDF. It is built from your profile at that moment, in the language you last saved your profile in, and leaves out the experience you keep to yourself. A company you apply to sees the same profile — see Applying for a job.

What your public page shows

View your profile in the editor opens it. Others see your photo, name and headline, your city and country with the work you take on, your links, About, skills, availability, experience, education and languages, and the published services you offer as yourself. Once you are listed, a Share button passes the link on, or copies it.

Viewing your own page, you also see Manage in workspace, and a notice while it is unlisted that only you and our moderators can see it.
